Sew Inspirational

As I fail at everything domestic (cooking, cleaning, caring for young, etc), I thought that I might unpack and try to use the sewing machine we've had sitting around for ages.
Of course, the first thing I did was throw away the instructions, because I'm mentally deficient, and fiddle around and try to remember what we learnt in Textiles last year. Finally, after making a mess and generally being a useless human being, I had to ask for help from my dad and my older cousin, Lee. Not to reinforce gender-stereotypes, but how did I get out-womaned by two men?

Anyway, after they helped me set it up, I came to the sad realization that, not knowing how to make patterns for anything more complex than a small, badly-made, useless pouch, all I was able to make was small, badly-made and useless pouches. And I made a mess, stabbed myself, inhaled fabric dust and generally disgraced myself. I think the low point was sewing up all sides of a cushion before realizing that I needed to put stuffing in.

I am hoping that I will improve. To those who know me, expect badly-sewed homemade phone-cosies for all your birthdays.

To distract you from that distressing thought, here's a hilarious video of my favourite person in the world.
